Exfoliative dermatitis due to dermatophytosis

Exfoliative dermatitis (ED) or erythroderma is defined as diffuse erythema and scaling of the skin involving more than 90% total body surface, which can be caused by variety systemic cutaneous diseases, such infection, including dermatophytosis. Dermatophytosis a superficial fungal infection keratinized tissue dermatophytes. There are only few case reports ED due to dermatophytosis in literature. A 39-year-old male present with history erythematous macules scales almost on entire was reported. The diagnosis confirmed direct microscopic examination, culture, histopathological examination. Patient treated 2% ketoconazole shampoo two pulses 1-week 200 mg itraconazole twice day for each month. Clinical improvement showed 7th observation characterized decreasing scales. Mycological clinical improvements were obtained 29th observation. etiology should determined order give an appropiate treatment.
